I'm Not Superstitious...

.. and I have a proof!! My flight for S.Barbara is Friday 13 Jan. Friday 13! And I'm also really afraid of flying!! I have to confess that the choice of this date was not due to a particular rush of boldness. I simply haven't noticed it when I was purchasing the ticket... I was only wondering why the prices were so low for this particular day...

Goodbye, Trieste...

Today I've taken all my stuff from Trieste to the house of my parents in Mestre, where I will stay until my departure for S.Barbara (13 Jan).
I've said goodbye to all the friends in Trieste these last days, with the hope this is only an au revoir. I'll miss the sea and the wind (... but the ocean will probably be a good substitute...), and many little things. I'll miss my first house without my parents, I'll miss the little life style I've made for myself in these years. But, yeah, everything comes to an end, to part is a little to die, etc etc.
Thank you all, dear friends. Thank you.

Tomorrow,
will take us away,
far from home,
no one will ever know our name.
But the Bard's song will remains.

Tomorrow,
all will be known,
and you're not alone,
so don't be afraid in the dark and cold,
cause the Bard's song will remains.
They always remain.

First Lectures

Tuesday and Wednesday I will give my first lectures to the first year students here in Sissa. Wish me good luck!

Last Days...

This is my last week in Trieste. Oh, my, I'm so sad.
All the friends I have to leave.
Will life be so generous with me also in the future?

The Empire Strike Back/2

Regarding the recent declaration of Mr.Pope from the Vatican.
1) "Homosexual people can become priest only if non-praticant from 3 years" and the like.
Fine with me. The Catholic Church is a religion, and her decision about the people to hire it's up to their exponents. Nobody can argue in their internal affairs. If they want to hire only heterosexual males, or, say, blonde females taller than 1,80 m, or old-fashioned sailors with a wooden leg, or left-handed horse riders, etc. nobody could care less than me. I just want to highlight a little detail, that maybe the Vatican hasn't noticed. Homosexual and pedophiles are not the same people. This says it all.
2) "AIDS: the true remedy is chastity".
Avian Influence: the true remedy is not to breath. People all around the world, remember not to breath, it is mortal sin. Open your eyes: in Africa, and not only, there are millions of poor people and their only comfort in life is sex. Life can be hard. Do you want to make it even harder? Do you really think that chastity works? Probably chastity is worse than every other method of prevention (or contraception, for that matters...), because when nature calls, chastity leave you with your pants down. Pun intended.
3) "I hope that science will help to find a natural way for birth control".
We gave you condoms, pills, spirals, etc. You rejected them because they are not 'naturals'. What do you mean by 'natural'? A woman can use mathematics (Ogino-Knaus), but not physic or chemistry? Allow me to be brutally sincere. Looking at natural habitats, Nature provided us with a perfect birth control method. It is called starvation. There are no other 'natural' methods, by any reasonable definition. Is this what you want?
